Intro to CAD
CAD(computer aided design) is the use of computers to aid in the creation of a design(wikipedia definition).
This section is a range of guides on how to do different things on CAD software. If there is anything you can't find here, I suggest for you to go onto youtube to learn it from a video there. THere are lots of good tutorials available and they help out a lot.
What Software do I use?
There are heaps of different software available but I will chalk it down to 3 that I reccomend based on your preference.
- Shapr3D - Shapr3d is free for all students with a school email and I reccomend it to anyone who is on Macos. You can download and apply for an education license here
- Onshape - Onshape is a browser based CAD Software that is free for non-comercial use. I recommend it to anyone on Linux or anyone that uses a weak device. You can sign up here
- Fusion 360 - Fusion gets a lot of hate and a lot of love depending on who you ask. I personally haven't used it but I am including it on this list for anyone who wants to use it. Not recommended for anyone on intel mac. You can sign up here
If you are on windows then you can pick any of those 3. Yall are blessed with options.
